- 8 ea bacon
- 2 ea paper towel
- 1 ea fine mesh sieve
- 1 ea glass storage container
- 1 ea strained bacon fat
- 1 ea container lid
Steps
Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).≈ 10 min Line a baking tray with parchment paper to create a parchment-lined tray.≈ 2 min Arrange 8 bacon slices in a single layer side by side on the parchment-lined tray.≈ 3 min Bake the bacon in the preheated oven until it reaches your desired level of crispiness (about 10–20 minutes). Check after 10 minutes and continue baking as needed.≈ 10 min–20 min Line a plate with a paper towel to create a paper-towel-lined plate.≈ 1 min Remove the tray from the oven and use tongs to transfer the cooked bacon onto the paper-towel-lined plate to drain excess fat.≈ 2 min Optional: Line a fine mesh sieve with a paper towel to prepare for straining bacon fat.≈ 1 min Optional: Position the lined sieve over a glass storage container.≈ 1 min Optional: Pour the rendered bacon fat from the tray into the lined sieve to strain out any solids into the glass container.≈ 2 min Optional: Cover the glass container with its lid and refrigerate the strained bacon fat for future use.≈ 4 h–24 h
