Ingredients
- 2 oz gin
- 1 oz sweet vermouth
- 0.25 oz maraschino liqueur
- 2 ea Angostura bitters
- 8 ea ice
- 1 ea stirred Martinez (in mixing glass)
- 1 ea Martinez (served in coupe)
- 1 ea lemon twist
Steps
Chill a coupe glass by placing it in the freezer or filling it with ice water; leave the glass chilled and empty for serving.≈ 5 min Express a lemon twist over the drink to release oils, rub the peel on the rim, and drop the twist into the glass as garnish.≈ 1 min Measure and combine gin, sweet vermouth, maraschino liqueur and Angostura bitters into a mixing glass; fill the mixing glass with plenty of ice (about 8 large cubes, enough to reach near the top).≈ 1 min Stir the mixing-glass mixture with the ice until the drink is well chilled and slightly diluted (about 30–45 seconds).≈ 1 min Quickly strain the stirred cocktail from the mixing glass into the chilled coupe glass.≈ 1 min
