How to Install the Wen Dinner App

Wen Dinner works in a browser, but installing it as an app can make recipe capture and cooking easier.

Why Install Wen Dinner?

Installing Wen Dinner gives you a more app-like experience and, on supported devices, lets other apps share recipe content directly to Wen Dinner.

With the app installed, you can:

  • Share recipe URLs to Wen Dinner from a browser, message, or social app
  • Share recipe photos from your camera or photo library
  • Share recipe documents from a file manager
  • Open Wen Dinner from your home screen, dock, or app launcher
  • Use a focused app window while cooking

Install on Desktop

In Chrome, Edge, and other Chromium-based browsers:

  1. Open Wen Dinner in your browser.
  2. Look for the install icon in the address bar.
  3. Choose install and confirm.
  4. Launch Wen Dinner from your desktop or app launcher.

If the install icon is not visible, open the browser menu and look for an option such as "Install Wen Dinner" or "Add to desktop."

Install on Android

  1. Open Wen Dinner in Chrome or another supported browser.
  2. Open the browser menu.
  3. Choose "Install app" or "Add to Home screen."
  4. Confirm the installation.
  5. Launch Wen Dinner from your home screen.

Install on iPhone or iPad

On iOS and iPadOS, install Wen Dinner from Safari:

  1. Open Wen Dinner in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button.
  3. Choose "Add to Home Screen."
  4. Confirm the name and tap "Add."

Apple limits some installed web app features. If direct sharing to Wen Dinner is not available from another app, open Wen Dinner and add the recipe from the search box or Enter New Recipe page.

Share Recipes to Wen Dinner

On supported devices, after installation:

  1. Find a recipe URL, photo, or document in another app.
  2. Use that app's share button.
  3. Choose Wen Dinner from the share options.
  4. Review the recipe in Wen Dinner and use it for meal planning.

For private recipes, sign in and add the recipe from text or a file so you can choose private visibility.

Troubleshooting

If installation is not offered:

  • Use an up-to-date browser.
  • Make sure you are visiting Wen Dinner over a secure connection.
  • Refresh the page and try again.
  • Check the browser menu for install options.

If Wen Dinner does not appear as a share destination:

  • Confirm that it is installed as an app, not only bookmarked.
  • Try restarting the browser or device.
  • Use the normal Wen Dinner recipe entry page as a fallback.
